Mary Ellen McDonald is a spirited writer, whose creative energy has sparked her imagination since she was a little girl. Ever since her first “Dr. Seuss” book arrived at her doorstep, she has been in love with poetry. That was the beginning of her writing career! Mary Ellen was born and raised on Long Island, New York along with her twin sister, Bernadette.

She spent much time writing her stories on the shores of Jones Beach. She is the proud mother of two grown children, Jennifer and James, and the devoted grandmother of three grandchildren; Michael, Skylar and Nicky.

She has written for friends and family all her life, and now writes professional poetry for all occasions that are customized for the cherished moments of people’s lives. She has cases of poetic stories that she has written over the years, and has now brought to life her Wigglys and Skypie series, which were inspired by her grandchildren ten years ago.

Mary Ellen is also intent on bringing her children’s Bible poems to publication. Mary Ellen is living her dream, and she looks forward to a long life of creative writing and making children smile!

JONAH AND THE WHALE
And the Lord said to Jonah
“Get up and go,”
To the City of Ninevah
That hurts me so.

See, the City of Ninevah
Was very bad,
And all of its evil
Made God very sad.

But Jonah decided
To disobey,
He went to Joppa
And was on his way.

He boarded a ship
And paid his fare,
He was headed for Tarshish
Without a care.

NOAH AND THE ARK
God looked upon earth, and became very sad
For the land was sinful, and the people were bad.

They disobeyed God, and turned their backs on the lord
So God made a storm, and it rained and it poured.

The people would perish, and die in the flood
And this dry, scorched land would soon become mud!!

There was only one family on all of the earth
Whom God had trusted to do his work.
